BDPL Scorecard Quick Reference Guide

Note: This is a quick reference guide only. It does not replace the official BDPL League Regulations. In any dispute, the official regulations apply. For questions, contact your divisional representative via your divisional WhatsApp group.

Match Format

The league uses a 4-2-4 format:

Player Requirements

Players	Result
6-12 players	Full match, no forfeits
5 players	Start 2-0 down (forfeit P2 and S6)
Fewer than 5	Cannot fulfil fixture

Frame limits per player: No player may participate in more than two frames per match. This means either two singles OR one singles and one doubles.

Signing In

Deadlines

Time	Requirement
20:15	All players should be at venue
20:20	Home team signed in (minimum 5 players)
20:25	Away team signed in (minimum 5 players)
20:30	Match must start

Late Penalties

Time	Penalty
Not ready by 20:45	Forfeit S1 and S2 + £10 fine
Not ready by 21:00	Forfeit entire match (10-0) + £10 fine

Each player writes their name legibly in the Name column
Each player signs in the Signature column next to their name
Players must be signed in by the deadline to be eligible to play

What Must Be Filled In By Deadline

By 20:20 (home) / 20:25 (away), the scorecard must have:

Minimum 5 players signed in
S1-S4 fully populated with player names
P1 fully populated (both players in your pair named)

Remaining Frames

P2, S5, S6, S7, S8 may be filled in frame by frame as the match progresses
Players must sign the card before starting their frame
Additional players (6-12) may arrive during the match and play, provided they sign the card before starting their frame

Recording Frame Results

Mark an X in the Win column for the winning player/pair

Optional Stat Tracking

If a player wants break and dish or reverse dish tracked, mark the Win column with:

Mark	Meaning
B	Break and dish (broke and cleared the table)
R	Reverse dish (opponent broke, you cleared the table)

Player Positioning Rules (6-12 Players)

S1-S4: Four different players play the first four singles
P1-P2: Doubles pairs must be declared before the first doubles frame begins
S5-S8: Four players play the last four singles
Two singles option: A captain may give up to two players a second singles frame. If so, these players must play their first singles in S1-S4 and their second in S7 or S8
Restriction: Players who play two singles frames cannot also play doubles

Five Players Only

If your team has only 5 players:

You start 2-0 down
P2 is forfeited (write “Forfeit” for both player names)
S6 is forfeited (write “Forfeit” for player name)
Your 5 players fill S1-S4, P1, S5, S7, S8

End of Match

Captain Signatures

Both captains must sign the scorecard at the end of the match. By signing, captains confirm:

The result is accurate
All players were eligible
They accept the final score

Important: Signing waives the right to dispute the match result later (except for conduct issues).

Final Score

Write the total frames won by each team in the Final Score boxes at the bottom.

Submitting the Result

Example Scorecard Explained

The example scorecard shows:

Home Team (Team A) - 6 players available:

Players 1-4 play S1-S4 (first singles)
Players 5 & 6 play P1
Players 1 & 2 play P2 (one singles + one doubles each = 2 frames)
Players 5 & 6 play S5 & S6 (one singles + one doubles each = 2 frames)
Players 3 & 4 play S7 & S8 (captain chose to give them a second singles, so they couldn’t play doubles)

Away Team (Team B) - Only 5 players available:

Starts 2-0 down
P2 and S6 marked as “Forfeit”
5 players fill remaining frames

Result: 5-5 draw (each team gets 1 point)
